Rambo: The Video Game Shows Its Stoic Face For A New Gameplay Trailer

Rambo comes off as a fierce warrior in the latest trailer for Rambo: The Video Game. He also comes off as a man incapable of showing emotion.

You can check out the latest trailer below, titled Machine of War, where John Rambo stabs and shoots his way through the jungle all while, impressively, maintaining same facial expression.

Rambo: The Video Game is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC and if you pre-order the game, you can get your hands on a Rambo bobble-head. The game is supposed to be available early this year with some retailers pointing to a February release date, but the trailer offers no concrete date.

  • Oh gosh... Why was Rambo allowed to be a thing?
  • So cheeky, Kyle. But to be fair, it's a perfect representation of Stallone's acting during the 80s. The game looks like it's gonna be so bad it's good, tbh. It at least looks better than the last trailer.

hmm...I sure would like a bobble head. I just don't know that I need a $60 drink coaster...
  • I don't have to gaze into my crystal ball to predict the critical reception of this game lol.
  • I'm sorry, but...why? If it's cheap, then maybe I'll play it...who knows, maybe it could be stupid fun.
  • Wait you get a bobble head! I might pre-order the game for that.
  • oh hey, look! it's Walking Dead: Survival Instinct all over again

  • I'm disappointed that they aren't including the 2008 Rambo. It's the best of all the movies. Anyway, I don't expect it to be that good, but I'll probably get it anyway just because of how much I love the character.

See, publishers? This is what we want in a video-game experience; what we - the fans - have been asking for all along. It's taken over twenty years to get to this point, but now that we're finally here, it feels all too great. I've been tired of 'realism' in games for far too long. Boring shades of brown and grey, and for what? Whenever I play Call of Duty or Gears of War, all I want to do is take a nap. But Rambo takes the color up to eleven. Not only do we get brown and grey, but we get green as well. Green! That's the color of trees. Trees are good. Rambo is good. The barbie-like character models go to show how physically fit these characters are; though the hair clipping animations go to show that they still have defining flaws as people. I can tell you right now that this game will be deep by the character models alone. Rambo has one facial expression in this game, and it's fascinating to see him pull off all of those emotions while wearing that same look on his face. It really speaks to the subtle nature of the game, and it's complexity in the smallest of details, and how far claymation has come in the medium. And the gameplay. Oh, the gameplay. From the shockingly accurate depictions of knife kills, AK explosions, stealth and exploration, you can tell that the developers really knew what we wanted in a game, and pushed as hard as possible to make sure that we could receive the most diverse and realistic physics these consoles could muster. I for one can't wait to scale the Vietnamese desert mountains like Nathan Drake and take down soldiers silently in the nearby forests like Snake. The volume of the game seems to be massive, and the scope impeccable. Grand Theft Auto V may have blended many gameplay styles into one, but 'Rambo: The Video Game' looks to refine its mechanics and offer a more seamless, awing experience. Stunning graphics on consoles and PC, beautiful locations to explore and fight in, and featuring our favorite PTSD action-hero, Rambo. This is one liscened game I'm looking forward to this year. Kudos, Reef Entertainment, for treating us to this masterpiece.
  • This looks amazing... finally, one of my childhood dreams is being realized.

  • Rambo appears incapable of showing emotion... so pretty much just like Sylvester Stallone on screen then.
  • this game is gonna blow so hard. lol. this trailer is the most misleading piece of garbage on the internet. edit: where is the part that shows that is game is nothing more than a poormans' timecrisis, ans that game is pretty cheap if you ask me.
  • Floating fish.
  • I love the graphics..its so ummmmmm (bangs head on desk)
  • I didn't know they were still making PS2 games.

  • This NEEDS to be a super replay when it comes out.
  • Uhhhh okaaaay...

  • I don't think I've ever laughed at a video game trailer before.
