The lights are on
Red Barrels is getting ready to unleash its terrifying first-person survival horror title Outlast on an unsuspecting world. The game scared a number of E3 attendees, even reportedly causing one person demoing the title to faint.
In a gameplay trailer that we posted late last year, you can see how the game uses light and dark, a video camera's night vision, and sound to create the freakish atmosphere of Mount Massive Asylum. We also conducted a video interview with Red Barrel's Philippe Morin, and sampled the title for ourselves at PAX East.
You'll be able to see just how scary it is come September 4, when it becomes available on PC for $19.99. To celebrate the announcement of the release date, Red Barrels has shared some new screenshots.

Looking pretty spooky. It's been way too long since we've had a new, truly terrifying game come out so I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on this!
Is it coming out on Steam or some other distributor? And will it have controller support?
Hahaha! Someone fainted? That is embarrassing if it is true.
I'm pretty stoked for this game. Another game to look forward to in September.
Isn't this made by former Assassin's Creed devs?
Can't wait for this game!
Don't forget everyone, this was announced for PS4 as well
That really looks a lot like Nancy Pelosi.
