The lights are on
Square Enix's free-to-play multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe is in a closed beta, and a new trailer gives you a sneak peek into the action.
Nosgoth looks to bring a demonic edge to the online multiplayer scene. While I think many of us were hoping for a new single-player Legacy of Kain adventure, this game looks to be shaping up nicely.
For more on the project, check out our previous coverage, which features some team members from developer Psyonix speaking out their vision for the game. You can register for Nosgoth's closed beta here.

could be fun, but I'm bummed out in the same way the FPS shadowrun bummed me out.
I want a Blood Omen 3 that looks like Blood Omen 1. Is that too much to ask for? Blood Omen 1 is awesome! Awesomely dated and frustrating but fun nonetheless. It's like a gory, less polished version of A Link to the Past.
Never played a Legacy of Kain game before. This looks cool though. And like all F2P titles I will at least give it a try.
Man I hope a new Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain is announced for next-gen soon. Square would be foolish not to!
Meh meh meh meh mememememem memememeh meh
Wow, they made a MMO out of the Legacy of Kain franchise? I may have to check this out.
That actually looks kinda fun
Reminds me of Gotham City Imposters which was awesome.
what a waste of a good license..couldn't they make a full campaign game to rekindle people's love of this license??? i really wish it fails as there are plenty and better mmorpgs out there and this license doesnt need to be one...how long have we been waiting for a new lagacy of kain and this is what we get?
I'm excited. The gameplay looks interesting, the abilities fresh, and the concept of flying enemies that are balanced in a multiplayer game is very curious. I admit that there could be some slip ups but this doesn't look like the end of the IP as everyone's making it out to be. Try the game before you condemn it people -- it's what I'm planning to do and it's the only way to actually have arguments based on reality rather than what you fear.
And yes, some of us DID want something like this.
