BioWare Unleashes New Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Trailer

Mass Effect 3 ships in just a few short weeks, which means players have some time to do some last-minute housekeeping. If you've already played through the first two installments of the series (and really, you should), now it's time to start thinking about the game's new multiplayer addition. BioWare has just released a new trailer for the game's four-player mode, which should give you plenty of fuel to go on.

The clip shows a variety of races and classes in action, including a human soldier, Quarian engineer, Drell vanguard, Turian sentinal, Asari vanguard, Salarian infiltrator, and Krogan soldier. There's even a nice little cameo from Commander Shepard, as he gives our heroes a quick pep talk. Looking at some of the enemies they're facing on these side missions, our heroes will need all the help they can get. Would it kill you to help out a bit, Shep?

For our hands-on impressions of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode, including five reason's why our own Joe Juba thinks it's a good addition, check out our preview. And look for the game March 6 on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

  • Considering how the various classes could work together to increase their effectiveness and adapt to each situation this looks like a welcome distraction from single player.
  • seems really cool.  i've always wanted bioware to take on muli-player gaming.  well... that and for them to make jade empire 2.

  • I will give the multiplayer a shot with my friends when the demo comes out....if it sucks...won't play it in the full game...simple as that....I will say at least it looks interesting....

A concern I have is that these "side missions" won't have a lot of replay value...say there is 10 missions....once I play through them all with my friends......why would I go back and play them again? I'm not the kind of person that would do them again and again just to level up another character if the mission never changes.
  • Dear Lord, that looks incredible! I hope they managed to streamline the frame rate on the Xbox, because I don't remember ME2 being that smooth.
  • I'm still upset that they put multi-player in the game. www.everythingstentative.com
  • Looks pretty meh. Bioware still hasn't managed to get me interested in the multiplayer. I'll just probably skip it altogether like I did with Dead Space 2. Hopefully the story mode is still solid.
  • Yes, you four nameless soldiers are our hope for the survival of mankind. Good luck out there, whoever your names may be.

  • Hmm... I can't believe it's almost upon us.  For whatever reason the wait feels really short.

  • Whoever's username is vx Ruin xv, I will find you.
  • ...and it felt soooo good! felt so good!

  • I'm sold. Time to get the boxes out again.
  • All Krogan team FTW Krogans before Hoegans
  • color me impressed.

  • Can you please use your youtube account and embed videos that way, please? Your video player isn't very good.

  • I guess you could say that these are the "unsung heroes" of the Mass Effect Series.

  • I'm gonna be an awesome Quarian. Not sure which class yet though... I'm honestly quite excited for this. I can finally play Mass Effect alongside my other Mass Effect-loving friends.

  • Looks really good and is making me more excited for the game. I like the different races and classes and can't wait for the demo.

  • I was in class on my phone reading this when the teacher was lecturing, when i saw you could play as a quarian for the first time, i screamed YES!!!!! and everybody starred at me.

  • Great trailer, but if Shepard's groups is considered the "A-Team" of the galaxy, this looked like an ad for the B-Team.
