The lights are on
Oerba Dia Vanille is among the cast of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, but she's significantly different this time around.
Awoken from her crystalized state, Vanille can now hear the voices of the dead. This special power has put her under the watch of the Order in Luxerion, who call her a "saint."
In other Lightning Returns news, Square Enix has announced an online feature called "Outerworld Service" that allows players to use social media to broadcast screens, messages, and battle scores from the game.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (retail and via download) on February 11.

Awesome! I was hoping that she would come back!
mmm... well lighting looks nice in a red dress. looks good
Man, Square. You have a gift for loading announcements with hate-inducing elements. Couldn't just have an announcement about Vanille? You HAD to focus on some social media nonsense too. Telling gamers how they can shout about this via social networks? What Gods did I please to receive this great news? :) "I cannot wait until FFXIII fans start flooding the internet with virtual selfies" - said no one, ever.
I wanted to hear that Vanille was an improved character now. Maybe see a trailer that will show her to be interesting now, how she's grown from her former, annoying self. Instead, I got mostly nonsense about Twitter. Great. Really Square, if anyone ever needs to drop some rage-inducing news about a game they're supposed to be hyping, they should just ask you for some tips. You make it look so easy!
I knew Vanille will be back in Lightning Returns.
