New EverQuest Next Landmark Developer Diary Shows Off Ease Of Creation

The standalone Landmark creation tool allows players to build anything they want in the world of EverQuest Next, and the latest developer diary shows off how it easy it is to use.

You can check out the video below starring lead building and UI designer Jake Sones and associate producer Eric Smith as they show off some the game's building mechanics, and some of the new changes that have been implemented in the system.

This isn't the first time we've seen the creation tools in action, but this is the most up to date version of the engine. Sones and Smith says there will likely be changes to the final version of the game, but this video shows something pretty close to final.

For more on EverQuest Next Landmark, you can check out some of our hands-on time with the creation tool.

  • I remember in EQ my girlfriend spending hour upon hour mani***ting things so it looked like she had a fireplace in her home. Thankfully it looks like they are making things easier.
  • I might just play this, tbh. EverQuest Next is impressive but if it's hotbars all the way... meh, might as well stick to building the things you guys crush under foot.
  • Looking better every time I see it. Hopefully the beta is released soon so I can get my hands on it! :)

  • seems quite advanced
  • Wonderful stuff. Though I am much more looking forward to EQ Next than EQ Landmark; that's just me. So I can't wait for this to come out so SOE can start talking up the main game.

  • oooh environment mani***tion ... I got my eye on this mmo now. Nice change from all the other theme park style mmos.

  • Cool beans.

  • I'm in Alpha for this bad boy, can't wait to get my mitts on it.  Such a refreshing change to the stagnant MMO genre.

  • I played EQ2 off and on since 2005.  I don't even know if I'll play Everquest Next.  But Landmark?  Heck yes!

  • Everquest (1, never played EQII) was my big first love of MMORPG and I would love nothing more than to return to Norrath for a great new game.
  • man i want this creation version of the game! ><
