DuckTales: Remastered

Coming To Most Next Month, Xbox Live Release In September

Capcom is set to take its dive in Scrooge's money vault starting next month with digital and retail releases. If you want to play it as soon as its available though, your platform selection won't be entirely open.

On August 13, DuckTales Remastered will arrive on PlayStation Network, Nintendo eShop on Wii U, and PC. Xbox Live Arcade will join the party on September 11.

For those looking for something a bit more tangible, a retail PlayStation 3 release is coming on August 20. It will include a download code and a DuckTales collector pin, and come with a $5 premium price increase over the $14.99 online purchase.

In the first of a series of "duckumentaries," you'll see how developer Wayforward is approaching level design, an updated art style, and capturing the feel of the original DuckTales cartoon.

  • Sweet.  I would have preferred if PS3 got TMNT first instead, but at I am still okay with this one!

  • Good to see some Wii U support.
  • Can't wait to play this polished version, loved the original when I was a kid.

  • Is the download code that comes with the retail edition in addition to the disc? Or does that basically mean the disc is useless and you're essentially just buying a download code in the store?
  • I'm looking forward to this game!
  • Very neat!  Are the characters going to have that white outline around them?  Scrooge kind of looks like a little sticker.

  • Day 1 buy right here! It's so cool they were able to contract the actual original Duck Tales artist! This is going to be an epic game.
  • I would sincerely hope that the retail release would have something more than just a pin for $5 more. Hopefully there is some artwork or something along those lines if the game is merely a downloadable code.

  • So, Ducktales is coming out for PS3 next month and Xbox in September, yet TMNT: Out of the Shadows comes out for Xbox bext month and September for PS3... That's screwed up.

  • I'll probably get it for PS3 then; September will be split between the beginning of the Fall Semester... and GTAV.

  • Well I guess Xbox can't get everything first, but I'll be there in August ready and raring to go!

  • Anyone else catch the Angry Beavers house at 3:28?
  • If it plays as good or better than it looks, I will get likely get the week it releases even though I will be focused on SR4 when it comes the week after.
  • They should release Ducktales 2's level next, as free or paid DLC for Ducktales Remastered, and release Ducktales on Steam.

  • This needs to come to Vita. I hate how so many PSN games are PS3 only.
  • I want to see Darkwing Duck Remastered.
  • Capcom will release anything at retail won't they.
  • This has to be hitting my nostalgia bone, because for some reason, I really want that $20 surprise (at least to me) PS3 retail release. I have no idea why... but at least it has a download code anyway. I'd rather have this game digitally, and always available on the XMB, than having to put a disc in. But a boxed copy of this title? Man... for someone who owned both NES Ducktales, I WANT THAT.

I actually would like to see more digital games get retail releases. Both to increase awareness for killer downloadable games, and also to fill up gaps in a release schedule. Nintendo, for example, could keep a steady stream of titles coming to the Wii U if they "promoted" digital games to retail in the future. Games like a $20 "LostWinds HD Collection" should be no-brainers to fill up the Wii U release schedule... but NOA is really stupid.

  • I hope all of the Metroid crybabies brace themselves; this is not your average walk in the park game. That's unless they "dumbed" it down like a lot of remakes lately. If they did then I'd have no use for it. I'll stick with my original NES cart.
  • Did anyone else see the bedroom from angry beavers?
