New Screens And Trailer Prepare Us For Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Z's Impending Release

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is coming to PlayStation 3, Vita, and Xbox 360 next month, and Namco Bandai has released a new batch of screens and a trailer for the game.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is a new Dragon Ball Z game from a new developer offering a much different style of fighting from the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi series.

A demo for the game is available to download now on all of its release platforms – PlayStation 3, Vita, and Xbox 360. You can also watch myself and video producer Ben Hanson play through the demo in a recent video preview. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z releases January 28.

  • I don't think this game is going to do very well. I love dragon ball z and I hope one day they make a really good dbz game. I just think they should explore new areas in the dragon ball z world. I wish the games had there own storyline. Ive played and seen all the seasons multiple times its time for something fresh. That most likely will never happen though which is a sad thing.
  • I played the demo and I must say I'm really excited for this game. I haven't played a DBZ game in years so I will absolutely be picking this up.
  • Since I'm a huge Naruto fan, and the Naruto games are my favorite figjting games, I will no doubt pick this up. Those 4 player co op fights look like a lot of fun. I wish Naruto would have that in his games.
  • Going to be a great installment. Played the Demo and the fighting is a little different to get used to at first, but this game has done plenty of new things to make it successful. The most important being multiple people in the fighting arena at a time, the lock-on target system is done pretty well too so it's not that difficult to switch between targets and lock on. Not just another DBZ fighting game, definitely tried new things that work.
  • I played the demo and was actually...pretty disappointed. The multi-player is cool, as well as the co-op. Flying freely around the environment is also awesome, but...the actual fighting is lackluster. To be fair, I still play the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games, so a combat system that basically relies on triangle and circle just didn't feel fun to me. It's not a bad game...but it's not really the game DBZ needs right now.
  • this is why no one takes Anime games seriously. They are usually beat em up fighting games with no depth at all that only appeal to die hard fans of the series. Just once in my life i would like to see an anime game get the true triple A treatment and break out of this mindless fighting game mold.
  • I love the DBZ franchise but I must say after DBZ kinect and this. I have doubts for the future of this beloved franchise

  • I played the demo, it was pretty fun. I don't like the fighting DBZ games much. Always wanted an open-world RPG-like DBZ. This one is heading that direction.
  • This game looks amazing; I should play the demo to know if it is good.

  • I can't wait to get this game, hit me up, my PSN ID is, ramen45. I have been enjoying this demo, best controls since BT3, and 4 v 4, Battle Royale, Co-op Boss Fights, and Co-op Missions, this is going to be massive!

  • I didn't like the demo, just too boring.

  • If I could just get a Budokai 4, Burst Limit 2, or Shin Budokai 3, I would be the happiest guy on the planet.
  • I still need to try the demo.

  • Im disappointed they are not making for ps4. Financially a dumb move imo.
  • The demo was pretty bad.

  • sweet

  • Played the Demo.... Its a good game but the controller totally sucks!!!! ONLY ONE BUTTON For attack..... Just ONE... The rest of the buttons are useless and if you at least dnt tweak them on the settings, you will have a hard time trying to get use to them.... :(( The rest is pretty cool and well balance.
