Xenoverse, Dragon Ball's first current-gen video game, has a new character that did not appear in the show, and a collection of new screens reveal he is a Saiyan.

Teased at E3, and shown a little bit more recently, this new character did not appear in the anime or manga, but his clothing and accessories hint at common elements from the show. We don't know his name, but today we learn that not only is he a Saiyan, but he is a powerful one. In the announcement revealing the new character's planetary origins, Bandai Namco writes, "After all these years, have we finally found another survivor to Planet Vegeta’s destruction? This question remains unanswered…"

You can check out more screens from the game in the gallery below which show the new character transforming, interacting and fighting with familiar Dragon Ball Z characters, and talking to Yamcha on the streets of a futuristic city. Will you be able to walk around an open city and explore? That's what some of these images seem to be teasing.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. You can check out our E3 2014 coverage of the game here, find out a little more about the new character here, and watch the latest Did You Know Gaming video on Dragon Ball Z games by hitting the link.
