A Short Look At The New Tech Behind The Newest Call Of Duty

In this behind the scenes video, Sledgehammer shows off some of the new technology and animation improvements coming to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The 11th main iteration of the first-person-shooter franchise seeks to take things in a bold new direction in both the single-player and multiplayer space.

Sledgehammer promises that the new motion capture tech will create a more immersive and realistic experience compared to what we've so far seen from the series. The video below details some of the new technology that's being used as well as changes to art direction and more.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is slated to release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 4. For much more information on on the series from the campaign to the multiplayer and beyond, check out our cover story hub by clicking the banner below.

  • i know im intrigued.
  • Doesn't look much different from the other ones. Still more interested in BF: Hardline.

  • I wish BGS would get some motion capture equipment like this for the TES and Fallout games.
  • Photo realistic? Where? It looks good, but come on its still not a big leap from last years title. I just hope the gameplay is better.

  • Looks like tech from 10 years ago. Seems pretty standard for Call of Duty.
  • It looks pretty good compared to previous installments. It still is not on par with BF graphics for new-gen, but you can definitely tell it's new-gen. I never cared much for the BF series, but CoD has gotten stale, too. I hope this game is better than Ghosts and Black Ops II. lol

  • I don't give a damn about this POS game!!! And I truly wish this franchise to DIE already!!! ENOUGH!!!
  • What? There's a new COD coming in November? Nobody told me! When did they announce this?
  • I've always wondered what these people were thinking as they were giving this whole PR spiel to the camera.

  • Just like The Odor, I don't think many devs have a problem in their art direction anymore. So showing off artworks and muscles and sinews that work under the hood that we will never see is pretty pointless. Myself and others are more interested on the narrative focus going into this game. So forget the tech, lets talk plot. The last couple of E3's did the same thing and lets face it, the SP is always underwhelming. Lets face it, who plays these games for the SP? Besides me...
  • I will say in some aspects it looks better than BF4 in my opinion. More motion blur is always welcome.

  • same old unplayable Crap LOLXD
  • Don't care. To anyone who replies to my COD hate post, also don't care. And yes, I did troll by to let my hate be known. Do. Not. Care.

  • looks like crap

  • Kevin Spacey?

  • I like how the future looks here. Kinda reminds me of future soldier a bit with invisibility, but yesh invisibility! Can't wait to die faster by invisible enemies on call of duty multiplayer.
