  • First!
  • I love me some Assassin's Creed, but I still hope after the 2012 release Ubisoft stops doing yearly releases. I haven't yet, but I still fear I might get tired of Assassin's Creed with a new one every fall.

Assassin's Creed Revelations Creative Lead Alexandre Amacio has revealed that a new Assassin's Creed will release in 2012.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Amacio confirmed that a new installment will be coming before the end of next year.

"In Assassin's Creed we set up a timeline with this whole end of the world plot of December 2012. That's fast approaching, and the story we have to tell, we obviously need to do it before we arrive at that point," he said. "We had such a complex and strong narrative that we ourselves did our best to just try to execute these games before that date. It would be stupid of us to be centering a game on a semi-reality and then have that conclusion happen after that date in real life."

Ubisoft previously revealed that Assassin's Creed Revelations would be "the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy," but Amacio has now confirmed that Desmond's story will continue for one more game.

"Assassin's Creed is all about cycles - we have the Ezio cycle and the Altair cycle, and both of those are set to conclude in Revelations and we have the Desmond cycle, which is set to end on December 2012," he said. "But there's many cycles within the brand - that's the whole point. History is our playground."

Since the first game released in 2007, Assassin's Creed releases have come annually. Amacio added that this schedule will likely slow down after next year's installment.

"We're already structuring the way we do Assassin's Creed, so it will no longer ever be like that," he added. "Our development approach is changing so our cycles aren't structured the same way - so it gives us a little bit more development time."

Assassin's Creed Revelations will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 15th. The PC version will release in early December.
  • Super psyched to play this!! I've gone through and beaten all three of the other AC games to 100% and can't wait to do the same with this!
  • Can't wait have it pre ordered, looks great......to bad uncharted.3 and skyrim come out in the two weeks before ill be plenty busy.

  • About a minute and 23 seconds in you can see Ezio or maybe altair wearing the white robes.

  • Today is a wonderful day for spammers
  • I need to play through the da vinci disappearance before this comes out, that should serve as a refresher course readying me for more stealthy killing!

  • Awesome.  This is my next buy after Uncharted 3 and Skyrim.

  • dam i wish time y fly by faster so i can get my hands on this

  • so is the game going to actually have clean cut scenes this time around? I love everything about this game except that. I hope cut scenes aren't getting pushed out of the video game industry. I enjoy them. That would make a good poll. How do you feel about cut scenes? lol
  • They definitely turned the brutality up a bit o.o

  • same old same old

  • Kind of excited for this game, I'm hoping it feels more like a full game then an expansion like Brotherhood did, though I did enjoy Brotherhood.
  • Holy Epicness!!! Man this year is turning out to be one of the best for gaming can't wait!

  • i hope that in this game you can kill a lot of Ottomans and a chance to meet the greatest Bulgarian that ever Live Vasil Levski

  • Maybe I'm alone on this, but I don't really care about the story with the Creed games. I like the open world assassinating and the clever ways to kill someone.
  • looks good as usual  hopefully i'll have the money for it when the time comes

  • if done right Assassin's Creed would make a great series of movies

  • sweet dude and whats even better is that we r almost to the release date dont forget that
