New Screens And Concept Art Tease Multiplayer Possibilities

We've shown you what to expect with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's open-world gameplay, but now new screens reveal multiplayer possibilities.

Concept art for multiplayer maps and character designs have been unveiled for the upcoming title.

Featured are the Puppeteer, the Dandy, the Rebel, and Lady Black.

For a closer look at multiplayer in the next Assassin's Creed title, be sure to read previews editor Matt Miller's experience at E3 2013.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on October 29. PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions are expected at a later date.

  • I think it would be sweet to bring back former assassins in the multiplayer like ezio or altair
  • "Eat your heart out... Or I will" I love it. Plus, I love AC multiplayer. It's really different from what's out there.
  • After seeing the image on the front page, I was afraid they wouldn't emphasize the female character's cleavage. Glad my fears were unfounded.
  • I tried my hand at MP quite a few times, I liked it but it grew old for me real fast. Just me though. I would like to see them incorporate ship to ship battles if they continue with MP, maybe even a free roam like Red Dead did with theirs.
  • Assassin's Creed multiplayer would be great if the dumb perks didn't make it so unbalanced.
  • I really like assassin's creed multiplayer, when people actually play it the way I think it was meant to be played.
  • I got to demo the multiplayer at RTX. There wasn't a lot that stood out as new, but it was still a ton of fun nonetheless. Plus, I think they're adding some new gamemodes.

  • I really don't enjoy the multiplayer on AC. I usually try it once and quit, it's just not good. If they would spend the time on single player, they could improve the entire experience. More side missions could fit onto the disc, and more resources could be used for a better experience.
  • I would play multi player if it has ship on ship battles.
  • The Dandy looks like a Colonial-Era Joker. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just a little odd.

I really hope Ubi fixes the multiplayer. Poorly-balanced and executed in ACIII; fun, when you leveled up enough, but an obnoxious grindfest 'till then.
  • getting more excited for this game...just hope its not a letdown like 3

  • So Harlequin 2.0 and tranny George Washington? I can dig it.
  • I really don't like the character design for most of the female characters. Every one has a seductive vibe going, which is retarded. Variety, please? The Harlequinn didn't have to use sex appeal to be an awesome character, unlike Courtesan 3.0- I mean Lady Black and the corset lady who, by all accounts, should be gasping for breath every three seconds.
  • Why do they all look like clowns?
  • The only multiplayer I'm interested in for Black Flag is ship-to-ship naval combat against other players.
  • I like the new introductory screens for the characters; it's cool how Ubisoft always takes the time to craft cool little backstories for each MP character that helps to establish why exactly they're in the AC universe.

I'm pumped to try out the new and improved Wolf Pack mode; as someone who prefers co-op, I found it to be a very welcome addition to AC III's MP and I can't wait to see what new surprises it comes with in Black Flag.

It'd be kinda neat if the NPC's could actually hunt you back this time around; as fun as it was racing against the clock to take down targets in AC III's Wolf Pack, not having that extra thrill of being both hunter and hunted was definitely palpable.

  • Yummy.

  • Hahahahhahah whoa...

  • The lady black image sums up my take on relationships....with a seductive spin.

  • I've never been too big a fan of AC multiplayer, but these screens look nice.
