Introducing Game Informer's New Video Editor

by Leo Vader on Jun 07, 2017 at 06:34 AM

It’s been about a year since I started my internship at Game Informer. By the end of my term, I was immensely proud of the work I’d done there. I was tasked with everything from helping cover E3, to making dumb skits, to producing a new video tour of the Game Informer vault. I also helped fill in thumbnails and descriptions for old Super Replays, though I admit I may have phoned it in for a few of them.

I was also lucky enough to build strong friendships with the other interns in my group, who I keep in touch with to this day. AJ Moser, Blake Hester, and Haley MacLean are all incredibly talented writers that I am honored to know.

All of this would have been enough for me, a whirlwind of “work” that I’d never forget. But the opportunity to come back full-time is more than I ever expected.

It’s a unique gift to be able to walk into a new job with complete security and knowledge that you love the work you’ll do there, and the people you’ll get to work with. The biggest reward from my internship was the proof that I would enjoy making videos about games as a job, and I marched confidently into the world with that knowledge at hand. Now I have a job working for the company that taught me that.

Our former video editor Wade will be a hard act to follow. He’s a gifted dude who deserves to pursue his passions, and I can’t imagine how difficult of a choice it was to leave this place behind. He’s also the nicest man on earth. Before he left, he not only imparted countless tips and warnings about the GI studio, but he made a 40 minute video tutorial for our equipment setup. That’s bordering on the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me.

If you want to get a feel for the kind of work I've done in the past, you can watch this landmark episode of my game news talk show, or my seminal interview with Project Milo. You’ll find me around the site helping out with streams, joining the Replay team, and producing all sorts of fun videos on any topic we can think of.

That’s all! Thanks for having me! Follow me on twitter! Say hi in the comments and I’ll say hi back!
