Check Out This Secret Of Mana-Inspired Game

by Kimberley Wallace on Apr 23, 2014 at 06:22 AM

The other day a friend alerted me to a game called Secrets of Grindea, a game with a very evident Secret of Mana inspiration.

It's known that I love Secret of Mana and that it is special to me. I knew I had to investigate Secrets of Grindea, and I was taken with the trailer's upbeat music and vibrant visuals. It also looks like Grindea will have more advanced features than Secret of Mana, with crafting, character customization, and more skills, alongside 4-player co-op.

The game is being made by a trio of game design students from Sweden, and according to the official website it's meant to be, "a tribute to and sometimes a parody of the old SNES games so many of us grew up with and loved."

Secrets of Grindea doesn't have a release date yet, but there is a demo available if you just want to get your hands on it for a test run. Right now the game is only confirmed for PC.

I'm digging what I see in the trailer, but I know it's going to be hard for anything to match my love for Secret of Mana. I'll keep my eye on it and hope for the best.

What do you think of the trailer below?
