Respec Radio: Game Informer's World Of Warcraft Podcast Arrives

Earlier this year, we kicked off Game Informer's first ever audio podcast, The Game Informer Show. We've got big plans for continuing that particular weekly show in 2010, but we've also been working ideas for some new podcasts, the first of which we're debuting before the new year even starts! Respec Radio is our new biweekly podcast devoted to World of Warcraft and other MMOs. Every other Tuesday we'll release a new episode full of news, discussion, guests, and interviews mostly focusing on Azeroth but occasionally delving into other massive online worlds. We start off strong this week as Game Informer editors Andy McNamara, Adam Biessener, and Philip Kollar introduce their mains, talk out every detail of WoW's giant patch 3.3 update, and consider the hurdles Final Fantasy XIV faces if it seriously hopes to dethrone Blizzard.

Note: You may notice during the episode introduction that we give the show a different title: Casual-Hardcore. This was our original title as of recording time, but we discovered shortly after release that the guys at WoW Radio have a long-running show with the similar title Casually Hardcore. Out of respect for their show, we've changed our name.

Give it a listen, let us know your thoughts, and stay tuned for a new episode after the new year!

  • thanks for the new thing, is it gonna be weekly?

  • Expert

bi-weekly. iTunes is coming soon as well.

  • ...

  • Despite no longer playing the game (and never taking part in end-game/raiding content) I've always weirdly enjoyed listening to WoW discussions. That being said I think making the show closer to half WoW half general MMO content would be much more interesting.

Great to have Phil Kollar hosting a podcast again too, looking forward to seeing what you guys have coming up.

  • ok cool

  • definitely something to look forward to but this is not up on i tunes yet what gives

We'll definitely be talking more about general MMO happenings. Something has to, you know, *happen* first though.

Because I'm so not wasting anyone's time with double XP weekends in Age of Conan or whatever.

  • i wish this was out when the game first came out. cool feature. a little late though? idk

until it's on itunes, y'all can actually download the podcast on this very page it's the attachment right under the audio player.

  • Silly PvEr's.

  • Very nice.  I WAS one of the people that thought raising the lvl cap to 85 instead of 90 in the upcoming Cataclysm expansion was pretty dumb.  But Andy (atleast I think it was Andy, it was hard to tell between his and Phil's voice at times, maybe it's just me, lol) made a good point that I had never really thought of before.  Raising the cap to 85 DOES give room for more potential expansions.

Nice job guys, a very intresting MMO conversation :)

  • cool

  • Good name for the show, but WoW Radio at wcradio.com already has a show called Casually Hardcore. ;)

  • Any news on when another episode of this will appear?

  • While I am bummed to see my title didn't quite make the cut, I enjoyed the podcast nonetheless.

"Boar Killers Anonymous" will be tucked away for later use.

  • i dig it... great podcast guys it's cool to finally hear your voices!
