PC Version Of Destiny 2 Launching After Console Release

by Matt Miller on May 18, 2017 at 04:10 PM

Today has brought a lot of big news about Destiny 2, leaving players excited to dive into the next adventure as a Guardian. Activision and Bungie have been discussing a September 8 release date for some weeks, but players looking forward to playing the game on PC will have to wait a little longer. An Activision representative confirmed for us today that Destiny 2 on PC does not currently have a scheduled release date, and will not release on September 8 alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

The unfortunate news (for PC players) comes amid some other very exciting news for potential PC Destiny 2 players; the game is coming exclusively to Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher.

Our Take
Destiny 2 on PC is likely to lead to a big shake-up of the PC gaming scene, as is the game’s planned appearance on Battle.net, but the fact that the game won’t release on the PC platform at the same time as the console versions is likely to be a big disappointment for many eager players. Hopefully, it won’t be a long wait for players who would prefer the PC experience.
