Rhythm Action Game Thumper Coming To Switch This Month

by Brian Shea on May 04, 2017 at 04:53 PM

As the Switch's early success becomes more apparent and the system's library continues to steadily build, more developers are announcing support for the system. The latest is Drool with its rhythm action game Thumper, which is now set to hit Switch on May 18.

Though you obviously won't be able to experience Thumper in VR on the Switch version, the game runs in 1080p in TV mode and 720p in handheld mode at 60 frames per second for both modes. In addition, the version supports HD rumble with the Switch's Joy-Cons.

Thumper originally released on PlayStation VR, Rift, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2016. The Switch version hits May 18 and costs $19.99. Thumper is also confirmed to come to Xbox One at a later date, but the developer has yet to reveal a date on that version.

Our Take
Though Jeff Cork wasn't too hot on the game in his review, I know plenty of people who enjoyed Thumper. Hopefully it will help Nintendo's efforts to continue building the library of the fledgling Switch.
