The Division Beta Begins At The End Of January

by Mike Futter on Jan 15, 2016 at 02:13 AM

Eager to dive into Ubisoft’s long-awaited The Division? You won’t have to wait long to put the game through its paces, as dates for a closed beta have been announced.

For those playing on Xbox One, you’ll kick things off on January 28. A day later, PlayStation 4 and PC players can begin their trek into post-viral New York City.

The beta closes for everyone on January 31, giving you a month to mull over your thoughts before it launches on March 8. If you’re interested in participating in the test period this month, you’ll need a code.

These can be obtained by requesting one via the website. You can guarantee your access by pre-ordering.

Our Take
The latest trailer looked pretty spectacular, but with all the delays, added studios, and relative lack of information, I’m curious how this will shape up. The Division has the potential to be the next big multiplayer experience, and it seems like it’s making a play for Destiny’s player base. I’m eager to see how the two games compare.
