Both Sony and Microsoft are competing for your online gaming attention, and that means an ongoing selection of "free" gaming is available to those that sign up with each company’s respective services. But those offers are timed, so if you want August’s offerings, it’s time snatch up those games.
If you’re on Xbox Live, Metro: Last Light is available on Xbox 360 through the end of the day. On Xbox One, you should snag Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes tonight before it disappears, especially since it should dovetail nicely into the release of The Phantom Pain tomorrow. If you’re a Sony player, you may want to download Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on PS4, and/or the indie masterpiece, Limbo. Sound Shapes is available on PS4, PS3, or Vita, as is Stealth Inc. 2. Castlestorm offers a fun variation on tower defense on PS3 or Vita. And if your system of choice is still the PS3 (or you still have one gathering dust near your newer console) then take the time to download God of War: Ascension.
