Weekend Warrior 8/7/2015

by Alissa McAloon on Aug 07, 2015 at 02:00 PM

This weekend, like many other weekends, the Game Informer staff plans to head home, hit the couch, and unwind with a video game or two. Most of the gang seems to be coming down from their Witcher 3 and Batman highs, but a few stragglers such as myself are still exploring those open worlds. All in all, it seems like a good many of us are using Rocket League or Galak-Z to get our minds off all those riddler trophies. Let us know what you're playing in the comments below!

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – I won’t have a ton of time to play this weekend, but what time I find will be spent on MLB 15: The Show on PS4 and Borderlands 2 on Xbox One. I may also jump into some quick-hit sessions with Splatoon and Rocket League, though.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend I'm hoping to play more Batman: Arkham Knight. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things after too long of a break. I just had my first run-in in the open-world with a surprisingly scary character. Outside of that, I'm going to be recording an old but top-secret game in the office tomorrow with some folks, and we'll share that footage next month. I also really want to try out the new Spider game on iOS or Steam. Have a good weekend!

Tim Turi (@timturi) – I’ve done the unthinkable and inadvertently put Witcher 3 on the backburner for something I never would’ve predicted: Street Fighter. I’ve been trying to get a handle on the fundamentals and become… maybe decent? The other night I finally started reliably executing combos, which I was able to take into an online match with me. How exciting! Anyway, I hope to also squeeze in some Galak-Z and get a couple hours of Witcher 3 back in there.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I've been dabbling in Galak-Z, but it hasn't grabbed me yet. I've also been watching One Piece and Naruto a bit. I've watched the first few episodes of both. I'm also looking forward to the end of True Detective season two, but less out of excitement to see what happens and more because it means I will no longer have the obligation to watch.

Christian Belland (@ChrisFightsBear) – After joining my greatest rival for a Rocket League stream earlier today, I'm going to be playing a ton of Galak-Z this weekend. I'm not an anime fan, but I love the retro art style and 17-Bit's insane attention to detail. I also downloaded Costume Quest 2 for three dollars last night, so I'm going to try and beat it before Everybody's Gone To The Rapture comes out on Tuesday.

Hershall Cook (@HershallCook) – First I lost at Rocket League. Then I swore vengeance. Then my worst enemy became my best friend. Then, today, it all came to a head during our Rocket League live stream. By the way, I'll be playing Rocket League this weekend.

Alissa McAloon (@Gliitchy) – I've recently discovered that my PC can run The Witcher 3 for four hours without crashing in some way. Last time, I managed to embark on a mission to find an old friend before my graphics card decided it didn't need to talk to my monitor anymore. This weekend I'll continue Geralt's quest and hopefully not melt my computer along the way. And, after playing Rocket League for the second time ever in a Game Informer stream today, I might sit down and enjoy some more car soccer this weekend.
