Marvel RPG Soars Onto Mobile Devices Next Year

by Tim Turi on Dec 02, 2014 at 06:00 AM

Marvel's partnership with mobile developer, Kabam, continues to march on like an inspired U.S. soldier following Captain America into the fray. Kabam already has a fighting game starring these heroic heavy hitters on the way by the end of the year, called Marvel: Contest of Champions. The next product of these teams' collaboration continues in 2015 with a yet-unnamed RPG based on Marvel's properties.

Kabam's Marvel free-to-play RPG will be playable on mobile devices by fall of next year. The developer's hefty catalog of mobile games includes Kingdoms of Camelot and Stormfall: Age of War.

Our Take
There are a lot of Marvel fans in the world, and many of them have phones. It makes sense that Marvel would want to continue offering free-to-play games to these fans, especially if Marvel: Contest of Champions' fighting gameplay turns out to be a success. Of course, we'll have a better idea of Marvel and Kabam's collaborative potential when we try out Contest of Champions later this year.
