XCOM Creator’s Chaos Reborn Kickstarter Surpasses Goal

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 16, 2014 at 03:29 PM

Launched early last month, XCOM creator Julian Gollop’s Kickstarter project Chaos Reborn, has met and surpassed its goal.

Chaos Reborn is a sequel of sorts to Gollop's classic ZX Spectrum game Chaos: The Battle of Wizards, which you can read about here.

With 6 hours left in its campaign as of this writing, Chaos Reborn has raised $199,363 of its $180,000 goal with 4,871 backers.

In an update following the game's successful funding Gollop posted an update saying, "Chaos Reborn has been funded with just 34 hours to go on the clock. Thank you to everybody who backed the project and promoted it. Thanks to my team for working after hours to make the prototype possible, and providing all the art and publicity material during the campaign. And thanks mum for being such a vocal supporter!"

Our Take
In most other artistic mediums of expression, like music or film making, we hear thank yous directed towards mothers, but not so much in the world of video games. It's probably because mothers and parents try to limit their children's video game time. Happy to hear Gollop giving credit where it's very much due. Also, this is great news for fans of classic strategy games!
