The lights are on
Last month we learned about Julian Gollop’s Kickstarter project, Chaos Reborn, set to release in spring 2015. The title is a reboot of the X-COM: UFO Defense creator’s ZX Spectrum game Chaos: The Battle of Wizards. Today marks the first official day of the Kickstarter campaign.
The Chaos Reborn Kickstarter campaign has a goal of $180,000 to meet by April 17, of which over $27,000 has already been raised. The game is destined for PC, Mac, and Linux as of now. A pledge of $20 or more will score you a digital copy of the game.
Chaos: The Battle of Wizards was a multiplayer strategy game ahead of its time. Players summoned monsters to attack one another, both real and illusory. The resulting battles were tense and entertaining, and provided plenty of replayability. Read about Jeff Marchiafava’s hands-on time with the classic title for a more complete picture.
Our TakeGollop is an established creative visionary and one of the fathers of old-school strategy games. While the genre has become more niche over the years, Kickstarter offers a perfect outlet for Gollop to connect with his fan base. Hopefully this promising title gets the funding it needs.
