The lights are on
Capcom held a contest for Monster Hunter Tri in 2009 allowing fans to design a weapon, and it is doing it again for the upcoming Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Fans/artists can submit their weapon designs to Capcom and a North/South American and European winner will be selected to have their weapon featured in the game. The weapon must fall into one of the game's 14 categories, must have a name, and can have a up to 100 word description associated with it, though a description is not required. Submissions will no longer be taken after the morning of May 5.
You can find all the details about the contest and how to enter by heading here.

Our TakeI like seeing these contests where fans are able to design elements of the game, but I'm always a little disappointed when they're not clearly defined as being user-created. Good luck to those who submit art!

I'd really like to design the ultimate sword out of a femur.
I love how Monster Hunter Is now on Nintendo Systems but I hate that I'ts only gonna be on 3DS.
I hope everyone makes a rad sword and shield because sns is obviously the most superior weapon in the game
Capcom seeking fan-input in helping create a new entry in one of its marquee franchises, huh?
Yeah, been there, done that....
WTF good is my Wii U if this is not coming to it?? Well it looks like my kids still get exclusive rights to my Wii U.
Cool. I hope MH continues to grow in the states. The games are a lot of fun but I have no idea why the have stuck so closely to the handheld market. I mean the games are so amazing.
