This morning, Capcom confirmed Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is in development for 3DS and planned for release in Japan and North America.

In Japan the game will be called Monster Hunter 4G. According to Capcom's Unity blog, the game will be built on the foundation of Monster Hunter 4, but with lots of added content like new monsters and other additions. According to Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, "You can expect the biggest leap forward ever for the series," with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be available on 3DS in North America in early 2015 and will include both online and local multiplayer.
