The lights are on
CD Projekt RED, the developer behind the Witcher series (pictured above), will announce a mobile game very soon.
Originally reported as a rumor by Eurogamer, the developer confirmed to the site that a standalone team has been working on a mobile game for a year and it will be announced soon. According to the original report, which uncovered details about the game in a translated management report, "It's a multiplatform mobile game, made with advanced technological capabilities of tablets and smartphones in mind."
It's unclear if this mobile game will be based in the Witcher universe, or possibly CD Projekt's other in development project, Cyberpunk 2077, or something entirely new.
Our Take:It would be nice to see CD Projekt's talent for mature storytelling make its way into a mobile game. It's certainly a possibility, but I assume whatever the studio has up its sleeve, it's likely something of a much smaller scale than what it has showcased in its previous titles. I'm definitely curious to learn more.
