Rumor: Assassin's Creed Movie May Have A Director
Details about progress on the Assassin's Creed movie have been trickling out for some time, and the latest rumor reveals who might be directing the film.
According to a rumor from film website TwitchFilm, Swedish director Daniel Espinosa, known in the United States for the 2012 Safe House, may be directing the upcoming Assassin's Creed film adaptation.
The director is one of the last pieces of the Assassin's Creed film puzzles as a star (Michael Fassbender), a writer (Michael Lesslie), and a release date (August 2015, pushed back from May) have all been decided. Fassbender also said that the Assassin's Creed movie is definitely happening back in October.

Our Take
Daniel Espinosa's film Safe House scored a 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn't a particularly impressive score, but it's not always fair to rank a director based on a single project. There are certainly worse film makers out there that could tackle the project, many of them with films based on video games already under their belts. Assassin's Creed has potential to be an interesting film, and I'm curious to see what it looks like when (and if) it all comes together.
