The lights are on
Pokémon Origins is a recent Pokémon anime series that looks to the original Pokémon Red and Blue Game Boy games for inspiration. The first episode is now available to watch online.
You can watch the first episode of the show by heading to the Pokémon TV website. According to a tweet from the official Pokemon twitter account, the second episode will be available on Monday. You can check out a trailer for the special below.
The series follows the exploits of the Game Boy games' protagonist, and follows the game's structure for the story of the show. When Pokémon Black and White 2 released, we spoke with the Pokémon
games' current directors and asked them about the relationship between
the show and the games. They said, "Basically it’s the same place.
Looking at it as a parallel world, or in some select spots being a
parallel world might be more accurate." You can read that full interview here.
