The lights are on
Mojang and Bethesda have announced that they are releasing a mash-up pack that will combine the worlds of Minecraft and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The pack reskins all of Minecrafts textures to fit a Skyrim theme. It also includes 40 character skins, 20 songs from the Skyrim soundtrack and a pre-made world with locations such as Whiterun, Riverwood and Bleak Falls Barrow.
Mojang has not revealed a release date for the mash-up pack, only that it will be playable at MineCon in Orlando on November 2 - 3. The price of the pack is also unknown, but the previously released $4 Mass Effect pack might be a good point of comparison.
Check out screenshots of the texture pack below and watch Minecraft creator Notch interview Bethesda's Todd Howard at E3 2011.
Our TakeAlthough the Mass Effect mash-up pack was a nice surprise, it did not fit well with the Minecraft universe and the pre-made world had few points of interest. Minecraft and Skyrim, on the other hand, seem as if they fit perfectly together. I can't wait to explore a blocky version Skyrim, see the new mob skins and take down the Ender Dragon (who hopefully looks like Alduin).

My nephew is going to love this. I couldn't really get into Minecraft myself. I'm more of a Terraria type of guy.
It'll be $4.
"What’s the price point of Mash-ups?
At least going by this. It might be different though. This includes a lot of stuff for only $4 anyways. If you were to get those 20 songs, you would definitely go above $4.
Good. I'm glad they're actually continuing to put stuff out for the Xbox version. I hope they keep updating it, I would love to see the PC version's stuff on the Xbox as well. I just hope they continue with it, even with the X1 version release.
I knew they were gonna make this eventually. IT was the single most requested Mash Up Pack from fans. Also, Bethesda loves Minecraft. Can wait to be mining and building to Elder Scrolls Music.
I really hope these packs are on the PlayStation versions at, or near, launch...
I loved mc360 at first but as soon as that update came that added the mode where you could create on the fly without having to gather the resources I lost interest and couldn't get into it anymore, It took me two weeks to make a roller coaster that went everywhere on the mao from top to bottom. It took me so long to make it and when that updated came even though it was optional it just made it uninteresting to me, still a great game though
I want this because of reasons...
This is the best pack ever.
This is epic, even though I haven't played in awhile. All I need now for minecraft 360 is a LOTR or Hobbit mashup
" . . . pre-made world with locations such as Whiterun, Riverwood and Bleak Falls Barrow." Does this mean it'll be bigger than the Mass Effect world? Because that one didn't even fill the map.
