The lights are on
Nintendo has announced that the special Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds 3DS XL bundle (pictured above) is coming to North America. The gold and black handheld was previously shown off for Europe and Japan.
The Link Between Worlds bundle comes with a download code for the game. It will be available on the title’s launch date, November 22, for a suggested retail price of $219.99.
The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds is a follow-up to the Super Nintendo’s Link to the Past. You can read more about the title in our hands-on impressions from E3 and our coverage of a recent Nintendo Direct that revealed some changes to the classic formula.
Our TakeI typically don’t regret missing out on special bundles, but this Link Between Worlds 3DS XL has me wishing I had held out. The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past is one of my favorite games, and I’m excited to return to that version of Hyrule in Link Between Worlds.

That's a really nice looking system, maybe one day I'll hold out for a sweet bundle like this but I always end up being too impatient and getting new ones at launch before they offer deals like this. At this point I'm more excited for Link 2 and Mario U than my other next gen pre-orders.
When I upgraded from the 3DS to the XL version, I spent a good hour at the local Gamestop using a wifi connection through one of the employee's cell phones to transfer all the info from one system to the other. It worked but neither of us expected it to take that long after we decided to try it. In other words, that means not being able to simply return one up front and use the credit for it toward the new buy.
That said, I'm enough of a lifelong Zelda fanboy that I'll buy this up front, take it home to do another transfer, then take my current XL back for credit or trade of some kind.
This will make a lot of people happy. I wish I held out a little longer for this bundle, but I don't regret my 3DS XL purchase.
Well...crap...I would trade mine in if I hadn't bought stuff for my current one already. Maybe I'll just buy the Mega Man case and be good with that...I want this one really bad, but at the same time, I am not a fan of gold.
Wow. This looks hecka good.
Hopefully Gamestop will do a special trade-in for existing 3DS owners who want to trade-in theirs for this one, they did that for the Wind Waker Wii U and I scooped up one of those.
Add another 3DS to my vastly growing 3DS collection.
So the worst kept secret of the month is finally confirmed.
I bought the Ocarina of Time 3DS bundle. Black with Gold accents.
This one looks nowhere near as slick so i wont feel too bad if i dont pick it up...but dammit if i don't still want one.
