The lights are on
Halo canon lovers rejoice. Dark Horse is taking another video game franchise to print in Halo: Escalation. The UNSC flagship Infinity will be the centerpiece for the comic’s first issue. The writer is none other than Chris Schlerf, the lead writer of Halo 4.
The events in Halo: Escalation begin with the Infinity being assigned an escort mission for the covenant. Of course, things don’t go according to plan. You can read the synopsis on the website and get excited for the first issue on December 11th. For more information on other video game comics by Dark Horse, such as Plants vs Zombies or Tomb Raider, click here and here respectively.
Our TakeThe synopsis suggests that the series will take place before the events of Halo 4 and Spartan Ops. Before serving as an exploratory ship, Infinity fought in the Sangheili civil war. My guess is that the series begins after the signature battles on the Elites’ home world.
Even though Master Chief might sit this series out, it's exciting to see comics expand a video game’s universe. A deeper look at Infinity could be interesting.
No thanks.
When I read, "The writer is none other than Chris Schlerf, the lead writer of Halo 4" I was all like, "No way bro."
nope, sorry after halo 4 the halo series for me has become somewhat of a joke. and besides Marvel isn't backing the comics anymore.... so yea I'm out.
I sort of wish they'd focus on something other than the Infinity.
The Arbiter is in this!? Sign me up, man what has he been up to.
I guess they weren't loving what Marvel was doing with Halo either.
Hmmm, interesting. Maybe my brother wants to collect these. He's into comic books but mostly Marvel and DC. Me, not so much, except for the Uncharted and Mass Effect comics.
What surprised me is that there's a Plants vs. Zombies comic?!?! :D
This would be more interesting if Halo 4 had had better writing. The idea for the story was great, but they didn't handle it as well as they should have.
Huh. No one's face looks as good as a bad-a** Spartan helmet, lol
