The lights are on
In June, Saints Row IV was denied classification in Australia, even under that country's new R18+ rating. The reasoning became clear shortly after, and Deep Silver and Volition vowed to scrub the offending parts from the title in order to release in that market.
Today, the Australian Classification Board has announced that it will be reviewing the revised application on July 29. Pictures from PAX Australia, which was held this past weekend, indicate that the title to be released in that country is different than what we'll be seeing here in the United States.

Our TakeSaints Row has always been over the top, but it's started to dial up the insanity since the last installment. The weapon that caused the Australian group to refuse classification has been interpreted widely, with some taking offense to the implication of sexual assault. Whether this has been toned down for North America is unknown, as the weapon in question hasn't been depicted in promotional materials.
Well geez. If this is over one little thing. Pretty much allow the Dev Team to just edit it. After all the *** Bat from Saints Row The Third was changed into nothing but a purple bat for the Japanese version of the game do to its own censorship laws there. Still sold rather well there....well okay I don't know if it did and not looking up sells figures to find out.
So really Australian Government. Being anal about all of this over a prob weapon. Is pretty much saying that the R18+ rating is one big joke. Grown adults can't make their own choices.
After all I see that the government is very touchy over the fact of any game that has subject matter dealing with Aliens. Maybe the government is being controlled by beings from another world...hmmmmm...maybe all falling into place.
Poor Austrailia.
The stuff is only not int he Australia Ver. right?! The rest still get it?!
I don't mind that it's not going to have 'the weapon' in the game but it still annoys me that me and a lot of others aren't going to have a choice to make themselves.
saints row is awesome
*** AUS ratings board
enjoyed the demo at pax aus however a censored version or RC is not gonna stop me downloading it off the US PSN instead of the AUS one.
Doesn't matter, buying it from America.
Cheaper AND has all the goodness of being uncensored.
*** you government, you can't tell me what to do.
Cant have probes
