The lights are on
Hidden away in an email about the company’s plans for E3 reveals, Square Enix claims that it will "unveil the first look at the next generation of Final Fantasy," along with already-revealed plans to offer new details on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
That statement implies we’ll finally find out what Square Enix has been doing with its next-gen Luminous Studio, which was revealed at last year’s E3. Some have speculated that the tech demo entitled Agni’s Philosophy from that presentation might actually be an early glimpse of the story and artistic direction for Final Fantasy XV, though it's an assertion that Square Enix has not supported. We’ve included the full movie below.
In addition to its Final Fantasy lineup, Square Enix also plans to show Murdered: Soul Suspect, Thief, and the newly announced mobile installment in the Deus Ex series entitled Deus Ex: The Fall.
No matter what the next-gen Final Fantasy announcement is, and if Square Enix has any other surprises up its sleeve, we’ll have full details when Square Enix pulls back the curtain next week at the big show.

The story better be good. After X the stories in each game have been bad
AND WHERE IS MY KINGDOM HEARTS 3 for crying out loud.
and please show some love to Nintendo SE.
Maybe they retooled Versus XIII into Final Fantasy XV.
It'd be cool if they went back to an older era and used less scifi. That's just me.
I'm more interested if Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and a HD remake of Final Fantasy 7 will be announced or hinted or SOMETHING please?
I don't have high hopes for this.. But a small one at least.
I'm almost too skeptical about Final Fantasy games at this point in Square Enix's history. On one hand, the epic promises granted by teasers and beautiful screenshots like this are tantalizing, but on the other, I'm sorry to say that always having a game like this 2-3 yrs. away just doesn't get me excited. If there is a huge, in-depth reveal of FF XV or whatever it is, I dearly hope we can actually set our eyes on some gameplay and really know what this game is.
There is only one formula that can save the FF franchise: Old school gameplay with new school graphics. It is a winning combination. The FF series has gotten lame since 10. Do it Square Enix and I will be first in line. :)
That was an amazing video
All they have to do is revamp the classic Final Fantasy games with new graphics and maybe some new content and I will buy them brand new at full price.
Or we can get an on-the-rails-RPG with a "cool battle system".
Your call, Square.
I bet this next FF is going to take 2 generations for it to be released.
beautiful as always but are we gonna have it in 2 years or 5?
So when comes E3, Squenix will show the same agni's philosophy demo but now renamed FFXV. I'm excited for E3 Squenix. Yup.
Never played a Final Fantasy title, but I feel like now would be the time to start, what with Square pulling out the big guns.
None of this stuff matters because as soon as the game starts we will hear this as the opening dialogue "THE EPHEMERAL FLOW OF THE SOUL STREAM OF THE FATE OF THE COSMIC CIRCUMAMBULATION TO EMPEL VICISSITUDE THROUGHOUT THE CONNECTIVE CONTINUUM OF THE AGGREGATE".....then it will go on to introduce us to a cast of transsexuals with one dimensional, grating personalities,a plot that makes no g0ddamn sense and and a fighting system that requires a singular button press. I'm sorry for being a naysayer SQUENIX but you guys have to earn all that trust back, you're not getting the benefit of the doubt anymore...
I really hope that this next gen FF that they're teasing is enough to make up for how little most will care about XIII-3 and XIV. I really wish I understood why Square Enix keeps forcing games on their fans that they clearly, vocally, and consistently have stated they don't want while letting Versus XIII, kingdom Hearts, FF Tactics, Chrono Trigger and other games/series whither on the vine.
I will only be happy with Square Enix when they announce Kingdom Hearts 3. It's been over seven years and I'm starting to lose hope.
