The lights are on
XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the tactical strategy game, released last year, but there is (was?) another XCOM game in development. It is a first-person shooter, and like evidence of aliens on Earth after government intervention, it has suddenly and inexplicably disappeared.
Digital Trends noticed yesterday that the game's official website has gone down, and official trailers for the game on 2K's YouTube channel have suddenly gone missing as well.
Last year we were assured that despite frequent delays, the game had not been cancelled. In October, we heard that the game was undergoing a number of significant changes.
Something is happening with the XCOM shooter. It may have been cancelled, but there is also the possibility that it will be re-unveiled with its rumored changes.

Thank you video game God.
Looked like an interesting game, but in the current environment of the industry "interesting" rarely cuts it.
You know, the first time they revealed the XCOM Shooter, it actually looked pretty interesting. I liked the 50s motif and setting and it looked different from the typical shooters. When they showed a rehash of the game... it looked generic as all get out. They removed a lot of things that made it unique. GOSH DARN IT 2K! Why did you have to change it?
kinda hoping its cannceled , it didn't look too great imo and xcom should stay in its genre n not jump on the everything should be a shooter these days train.
A 1st-person XCOM sounds interesting and I hope that their still saving this. Wish that more XCOMs weren't always on-line, though.
2k it would be nice if you let the gaming community know what's going on. I was really looking forward to this game.
Not gonna lie, I was more excited for this than Enemy Unknown. It had the whole 50s sci-fi thing going for it. Really hope this game reappears.
I was excited for both games I thought the shooter was going to be good from the gameplay I had seen. I would like to know why they felt they needed to have it under go changes. I remember reading somewhere it was because it wasnt a strategy game like XCOM enemy unknown and that upset fans. If that was the case that was stupid.
Aw man, I hope this doesn't get cancelled. It looked so good.
We need a skilled magician to make it reappear...
Maybe 2K wants to cut ties and re launch the media for this game.
wow, got to love the government.
I'm was initially far more interested in this than XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I hope it still pulls through and gets released!
i dont think anyone cares at this point.could just be speaking for myself but im kinda glad last years xcom was sucessful.Hope it never becomes like syndicate
Yea I'm pretty sure its gone through some changes.
