The lights are on
XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the tactical strategy game, released last year, but there is (was?) another XCOM game in development. It is a first-person shooter, and like evidence of aliens on Earth after government intervention, it has suddenly and inexplicably disappeared.
Digital Trends noticed yesterday that the game's official website has gone down, and official trailers for the game on 2K's YouTube channel have suddenly gone missing as well.
Last year we were assured that despite frequent delays, the game had not been cancelled. In October, we heard that the game was undergoing a number of significant changes.
Something is happening with the XCOM shooter. It may have been cancelled, but there is also the possibility that it will be re-unveiled with its rumored changes.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
i actually like the first idea with the aliens as black goo. then they turned it into call of duty with aliens.
Ooh yeah... this... I remember being confused when they announced xcom:enemy unknown because I knew there was another one in development. Now that xcom:enemy unknown is here, I forgot all about the other xcom.
please dont leave us Xcom the shooter@
Maybe changed to look more like Enemy Unknown?
I like the cube effects from the original trailer, they should make the game but change the name to something unrelated to xcom.
I've been wondering about this for a few months now... Shame, it could've turned out cool. We'll see what happens I suppose.
