New Monster Hunter 4 Images Show More Of Giant Snake Garara Ajara

by Louis Garcia on Apr 12, 2013 at 10:15 AM

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate may have just come out for the Wii U and 3DS on our shores, but some Monster Hunter fans may be wondering about Monster Hunter 4, the next game in the series and one that’s entirely new.

Japanese magazine Famitsu recently published some new screenshots of Garara Ajara and Kunchuu, a giant snake and beetle-like insect, respectively.

Garara looks like the more sinister of the two. One image shows how it can coil around unfortunate hunters. As pointed out by Siliconera, the rather large snake also has fangs covered in venom, which are able to poison players.

Kunchuu seems less menacing (it’s stated that the tiny bird wyvern, Yian Kut-Ku, dines on the beetles), but can roll into a ball to fend off hunters.

Monster Hunter 4 is slated for a summer release in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS, with no word on a US release date.

Monsters, as always, are the most important part of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise. With that in mind, what do you think of these two beasts? Does a snake fit into the world? Game Informer's Jeff Marchiafava may have another piece analyzing the game's monsters to write in the future.
