Hotline Miami 2 Taking Place In the '90s

by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 30, 2013 at 05:29 AM

Hotline Miami creator Jonatan "Cactus" Söderström teased work on a sequel last year, but at GDC he came out with a few more details.

Söderström said that the game, "tackles the more touchy-feely aspects of the early 90s," according to Joystiq. It will focus on more emotional experiences, feature Jacket, the protagonist from the first game at some capacity (but he won't be playable), and mostly recycled music from the first game, but there will be some new tunes.

Söderström also said that he is hoping that the Hotline Miami sequel will release simultaneously on PC and for Vita. Developer Abstraction is currently porting the original game to Vita, and it will be able to work on porting the sequel as the game game is being created.
