The lights are on
Hotline Miami creator Jonatan "Cactus" Söderström today confirmed a sequel to the retro-inspired action game is in development.
"Working while listening to the sweet tunes of a preliminary Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack that we've put together during the weekend," he said on Twitter. Söderström later clarified to Eurogamer the planned download content for the first game had become too large and was spun into another full game.
"We've barely begun working on it though, still got things we need to patch with the first game, so that's the main priority right now," he said. Hotline Miami released last month for PC. Game informer reviewed the game scoring it a 7.75 out of 10.
Hotline Miami is one of my favorite games of this year. It was really disturbing.
Oh man, YES!!
I finished this game last week and I am still craving more. Sooooo glad to hear this news!
sweeeeeet i adored this game, i still play it after finishing it sometimes just to listen to the music, and pop a few dudes in the head with a baseball bat too... maybe something is wrong with me... whatever i want more
Such a weird game... And it can only get weirder.
Already looks awesome!
Nice! I loved the hell out of this game, challenging but addicting, can't wait for the sequel (though the "secret ending" was actually dumber then the normal one, so I hope they can keep the intrigue in the story there).
I don't know why but I loved this game, so hearing about a sequel is fantastic!
Just picked this up for $5 on steam. This game is freakin fun! Love splattering peoples brains with all types of weapons! I'm down for a second one!
This is awesome news. Hotline Miami surprised me with how involved the plot is if you pay attention to little details and just how much brutality you can pack into retro design. It's one of the few violent games that's actually disturbed me a little.
thank god. cooolest game this year
I beat the game Saturday. I loved it but the plot wasn't explained... At alll.
Cool. This and Amnesia are both on sale right now on Steam! Those are two of the better games I played this year.
