The lights are on
The Legend of Zelda now stars the title character as a playable character thanks to a hacker.
In a short video below, Zelda fans can get an idea of what it would be like to rescue Link as Zelda in the Nintendo Entertainment System title.
A similar thing happened with another classic Nintendo game, when a father’s daughter wanted to rescue Mario with Pauline in Donkey Kong.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see Zelda in the starring role of a future title in the series?
Pretty sure I saw something like this long ago
it's cool... but it's still the same game... just a different sprite.. and a little different text. I think it's pretty awesome, but if they changed the patterns around and what to do, that would be amazing.
Not sure I really see the point in mods for really old games that just change a sprite essentially.
However, if Nintendo wanted to of all their female characters, sans Samus, Zelda would be the easiest to make a game for due to the Sheik alter-ego.
What I don't want to see is a Legend of Zelda game with Zelda smacked on as the protagonist and no game-play changes. Zelda as Sheik could fit a very Shinobi esque game I think.
Neat, but it doesn't change the game enough that I would care to play it.
A Zelda game based around her skill set would be nice. Instead of sword-based, it would focus on archery and magic - and add in a feature where you can switch to Sheik at will, with a different move set. That would be a game I would buy. It is her legend, after all.
they should do the legend of link lol since zelda is the hero
Better than Wand of Gamelon!
I thought this was going to be something more impressive than a few new sprites. I thought it was gonna be a model swap on Twilight Princess or something cool like that.
Since Nintendo is doing the New Legend of Zelda... Maybe we might see Zelda as a playable character.
So cool! ^_^
I hope Nintendo notices and puts more heroines as their leads... and don't have them get kidnapped! Or if they do, they should be the ones getting themselves out of it.
I know it seems like it doesn't make a difference for most people... but there's just something special about playing as a female character when you're a chick gamer, a least for me anyway.
There's just something fun about role-playing as someone that saves the world. Women have hero fantasies too, you know! =)
Now the game can really be called "The legend of Zelda"
These role switches are pretty creative.
