The lights are on
A father who plays classic games with his daughter decided to take matters into his own hands when she asked if Pauline, the perpetual princess in distress, was a playable character.
You can check out the video below, which has some details about the process in the video's description:
"My three year old daughter and I play a lot of old games together. Her favorite is Donkey Kong. Two days ago, she asked me if she could play as the girl and save Mario. She's played as Peach in Super Mario Bros. 2 and naturally just assumed she could do the same in Donkey Kong. I told her we couldn't in that particular Mario game, she seemed really bummed out by that. So what else am I supposed to do? Now I'm up at midnight hacking the ROM, replacing Mario with Pauline."

The start of a Super Pauline Sisters gameline? LOL This is pretty cool.
Haha, now that's parenting! Awesome job. :)
He sounds like a great parent.
Cool. Wish I knew how to do stuff like this.
Lol that is awesome
Sure, why not.
Awesome dad!! Pauline is shattering the glass ceiling for 80's era heroines! Pauline should get 1000 bonus points for doing all that in a dress! I don't think Pauline is a princess though... just some chick that hangs out at construction sites... lol
Is there anyone else at the office on Weekends? I feel bad that every single weekend Kyle is stuck there reporting all the news himself.
That's so adorable.
