The lights are on
Valve’s recent Steam survey has come back with some interesting results pertaining to the user base.
According to the survey data, Linux users make up 2.02 percent of Steam users. Considering its recent release just over a month ago, the Linux user base seems that much stronger when compared with Mac’s 3.07 percent.
Our PC editor recently explained why Linux and its open-source is good for gaming, and how to bring the operating system into mainstream gaming.
As much as I am accustomed to windows I am happy to see this.
OPEN SAUCE FTW!!!
HAL is taking over
That's just all the TF2 players who installed Linux once to get their free TF2 Tux :P
That thing, it is looking into my soul...
this is equally surprising as it is unsurprising .. either way good to here.
Interesting. Hopefully more games jump onto the Linux bandwagon in the future.
I do love Ubuntu and Linux.
This Linux is truly gaining in popularity. I am pretty accustomed to Windows 7. Not too familiar with Linux, but I have noticed it's taking off quite well. Good for Linux.
Haaaaah 2 operating softwares take up 1/20 of the total steam count
Way to go. Let's hope GOG will follow suit and will start shipping DRM free Linux games. It would be even bigger hit than Steam.
Don't forget to vote for it to let GOG know if you are interested (they are gathering feedback):
