Possible Next-Generation Sony Console Specs Leaked

Want a glimpse at what might be on deck in terms of tech specs for the next PlayStation?

Following up on last week’s supposed leaks of Microsoft’s Durango hardware, online site vgleaks.com claims to have details about the competing product being built over at Sony.

Like last week’s story, the details below are a long way from confirmed, but it’s interesting to peruse the possibilites.

Among other things, the supposedly leaked info includes the concept that the new system (codenamed Orbis) would come as a single SKU that includes a 500 GB hard drive, a set of dual cameras, and a custom AMD APU. Click over to vgleaks.com for the full list of details.

  • Wow. I just saw that same type of diagram in my class about an hour ago. I know it has nothing to do with ps4, but heck. I now know more about it than I would have

  • key word POSSIBLE!

  • 3.5 gigs of RAM solely for gaming? Not bad.
  • It sounds great, hopefully it will be easier to develop for.
  • I swear I saw this on another site a few days ago. Excited to see what happens in the coming months =)
  • Playstation lives on..
  • aaaaand rumors rumors rumors rumors rumors rumors rumors rumors console finally releases and is nothing like all of them. I shall laugh.

  • Seriously, *** about the next consoles is getting 'leaked' every week it seems like. Just wait until we get some confirmed info

  • This is actually pretty good. But it only would make it just a little more powerful then the Wii U. So therefore hopefully developers will make games for both systems.
  • We all know that within 5 years there will be a new console. I am hoping Microsoft will release a new system but who knows maybe Sony will get a leg up hopefully they actually fix the ps3 problems because I loved the ps2 but the ps3 was a real bummer. oh also if Microsoft doesn't release a new system people have to stop comparing them because there is a difference from redesigning and new producing when you redesign something you don't really change it you kinda just change the look and maybe a few things in the hard drive but that still makes it the same as the old system when you new produce well you can understand what I mean. Back to my point people really need to stop comparing the Xbox and the ps3, Xbox was designed in 2005 ps3 was designed in 2009 maybe 2010 I don't know when but it’s a lot newer than the ps3. It would be like comparing the sn64 and the ps2 not something that should be done. Oh my god I am such a noob/noob ranter lol I should do this more often. :D
  • Suck it Microsoft!!!
  • Another "next-gen console leak". This is getting stupid now. It seems every other day there's a new "leak".
  • Sounds promising. Hopefully some of these leaks turn out to be true (info-wise)

  • Could someone analyze the details and tell me which console they think has better specs?
  • late.

  • Sure hope it's cross-compatible

  • seeing how sony has stated that they will not use a core processor for the ps4 i highly doubt this is true. was this post originally on play.com or something?
  • If I was Sony... I would focus on the Vita and keep unleashing legit games for the PS3. But hey. A PS4 sounds cool.
  • Enough people bought the fake xbox specs last week that they decided to make up a new round of specs?  They don't even look real.  You would never put a x86-64 processor in a game system with only 4GB of memory.  Also this would be a MASSIVE departure from previous Sony design principles.  I am positive the next PS will be a fast clocked PowerPC core and not an deep instruction set AMD64 processor.
