The lights are on
Borderlands 2's new DLC, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, released today for Xbox 360 and PC, but some Xbox 360 owners are having trouble downloading the new compatibility pack that allows them to play online.
Everytime Gearbox releases a new digital add-on for Borderlands 2, it releases a compatibility pack, which allows users to continue playing with each other online regardless of the DLC they've downloaded. These compatibility packs are required to play online, and since a lot of players are seeing their Compatibility Pack download stall out at 99 percent, that means that a lot of people aren't able to play Borderlands 2 online.
Gearbox recently tweeted that some user have been able to download the pack properly and is continuing to work with Microsoft on the problem.
While you wait for this fiasco to get sorted out, read our impressions of the Hammerlock DLC here.

Is it on ps3 today?
Does the PS3 have compatibility packs?
I erased the old compatibility pack from my 360 cache... just downloaded it (12:30 EST) and it worked. Failed earlier today, but it just worked.
Gearbox seems to have rotten luck with the compatibility packs on Xbox 360. There was an evening last fall where it would not download, but this one seems to be going on longer.
I was able to download it fine. The DLC itself is pretty cool, great environments. I'm sure they'll fix this soon.
As long as they fix it... I won't complain.
speaking of playing online, I got borderlands 2 recently for the pc and was wondering if anyone wanted to play online because no one i know has the game for the pc
I haven't had any problems so far.
I hope it gets better soon, I know I still need to go play some more of this game. Thanks for the update.
Finally was able to download it and try out the new DLC. I've died a couple times. I now officially hate witch doctors.
