Journey Reclaims The Top Spot On December's PSN Charts

Despite releasing almost ten months ago, Journey still managed to sit atop Sony's download charts for December of 2012. It not only topped other PSN titles like The Walking Dead and Sonic Adventure 2, but also full retail titles like Far Cry 3 and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Perhaps the resurgence of downloads has something to do with all the recognition the game received during year-end awards. We thought it was one of the best games of 2012, and we're obviously not alone.

  • I downloaded it on the 23rd and finally played it through in one sitting on the 2nd...
One of the first times in many years I felt like a kid again while playing. The ear to ear grin just wouldn't leave my face. A fantastic experience and the first time I've ever played a game that actually made me feel as if it were a true work of art.
  • the makers of this game are probally swimming in their pool of money right now.

  • Beautiful, brilliant game. Kudos thatgamecompany.

  • It deserves it. I got a PS3 specifically for this game.
  • I bought Journey a week before most (I'm a Plus member), and I definitely don't regret it. It is easily my game of the year for 2012.
  • this game deserves all of it's success plus more. just watched the developer commentary the other day on the collector's edition. SUCH A GOOD GAME

  • great game, my review of it was herded! yeah!

  • This is my game of the year. It's the only time I've ever felt like I was a part of a story. Usually I just feel like I'm controlling a character on the screen. It was amazing.

  • This game truly deserves this. Glad I could contribute.

  • I feel like everyone should play this game, it's just so amazing. Even for non-gamers, it's only like 2 hours and

  • I need a PS3...
  • I know it will be offered on plus free eventually.........i just have to wait.
  • Journey is incredible.
  • Its gonna win this coming month also cuz pewdiepie is playing it now

  • With all those Game of the Years that its been winning, I'm not surprised. Very good game.

  • It's well deserved, such a great game.  It's amazing how far the downloadable space has come.

  • Great for Journey, but the list is pretty depressing overall. The next digital-only game on the list is at no.12 - Tokyo Jungle. There's a ton of retail stuff, and a lot of that is uber-mainstream and from large publishers. Like Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed.

Come on, gamers! There's so much up on the digital stores that's inventive and fresh! Besides Journey, I mean. Why not check out and support that stuff? You really crave derivative experiences that much that you seek it out even when surrounded by such original titles? And for much lower prices? That's pretty depressing.

I hope Sony does more to push more indie/downloadable games like they did Journey. WAY more games should be selling like ThatGameCompany's awesome little $15 download...
  • It was ok, no where near game of the year. I don't get all the admiration.
  • Nice! I bought it on disc but either way, great game!
