The lights are on
Amongst the bombast of shooters and soul-crushing moments of The Walking Dead sits Journey, the PSN exclusive that won over Game Informer's staff and deserves a nod as one of the best games of 2012. The enigmatic title from Thatgamecompany has players controlling a mysterious figure with a flowing scarf as they make their way to the top of a mountain, but the unique aesthetic and novel approach to co-op pushes the game far past the simple premise.
Game Informer editors Jeff Cork and Matthew Kato hailed Journey as their favorite game of the year, watch them discuss with Dan Ryckert the impact that it had on them and what made it stand out.

I know Walking dead won GOTY at the VGA's, and rightfully so... but personally, I think Journey is GOTY. In the span of two hours, Journey was able to accomplish so much more than so many games can accomplish in the span of 30 hours...
I loved Journey, I recommend anyone who hasn't played it to give it a go ASAP!
The most unique gaming experience I've had in 2012. Just love thatgamecompany.
This makes me want to purchase a PS3...
I actually played Journey yesterday. Although two people dropping out of the game on purpose was disappointing and ruined some of that "teamwork feeling" for me, I really loved it. Absolutely stunning graphics and smooth platforming. Not my GOTY, but definitely a worthy contender.
Yeah this is my game of the year. There really is nothing else like Journey out there (Dark Souls is the closest I'd say...) and it was the most powerful and moving experience I've had all year.
This is easily my personal Game of the Year. I voted for it on the GIO Game of the Year awards.
Journey was a stunning game that managed to create a sense of awe. I just it wish it was easier to describe the game without losing its grandeur ("It's a game where you walk in the desert... but it is so amazing!").
I really really enjoyed this game.... At the Walmart kiosk.
THE game that moved me the most this year, its just amazing!
My personal GOTY for sure and a top 10 all time for me.
This is a ps3 exclusive, am I right? I feel bad for the 360 players out there.(I think that's the first time I've said that)
As the owner of a 360, I have always seen the PS3 exclusives as good, but not good enough to make me want to get one. But this... this makes me jealous.
Why you guys are so incredibly right. :D
