The lights are on
Dragon Quest X, which hasn't yet made it stateside yet, is getting a port to the Wii U. Alongside HD graphics, the game will also get an all new orchestrated soundtrack. The news comes from Jump Festa where Yuji Horii and producer Yosuke Saito said that while the soundtrack will not be completely orchestrated, the majority of it will be, on the Wii U.
Despite the game's ambiguous North American fate, we posted a trailer for the Wii U version of the game recently.

I loved the iteration on the Playstation 2 (8, I think) so I would love to get my hands on this. Kyle! You doubled up on "yet" in the first sentence. I'm an editor at heart, dagnabbit.

Haven't played any of the dragon quest series so I am looking forward to the Wii U version. I probably might collected the others someday.
Cool....I just really hope there is no subscription fee.
Looking forward to this SO much.
RPG does not get better than DQ, really.
But, there are no release dates then? EU or NA?
An epic series with ear soothing music; incredible.
So it's going to the Wii and the WiiU. They're probably going to have two different discs for the two different systems, but if I were making it, I'd have one disc that plays the Wii version in the Wii but self-updates in the WiiU. Like it has the standard definition and synth music in the Wii, but pop it over to the WiiU and the high-definition and orchestrated music are presented. Also, I'd have a way to have characters created and developed in on version be able to interact or be brought over to the other.
I can't understand why SquareEnix has made this move. Skipping over possibly tens of millions of units sold by making it exclusive to Nintendo's consoles seems a terrible move for a series that's been around since the 80's. Weak...
