The lights are on
Square Enix has already released Dragon Quest X in Japan on the Wii, and the publisher is also bringing the MMO out for the Wii U over there this spring.
Dragon Quest X was featured as part of today's Nintendo Direct presentation, and apparently Nintendo is urging users not to use flash drives for saves.
The game hasn't been announced here for North America.

Cloud saving is so great!! Hope Nintendo brings this to all their games.
Sweet. It's nice to see a game that can be as light-hearted as it can be epic.
Sweet. For those who didn't know... Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball franchise, helps out alot with Dragon Quest. Also, a Dragon Quest game is coming to 3DS.
Great trailer! Sad I don't have a Wii U yet, this is one of those games I would definitely play for the system. I love the Dragon Quest series.
I have been a fan of the Dragon Quest series since the original Dragon Warrior game, and I would feel betrayed by Square Enix if this game doesn't arrive in North America. Wouldn't it be great if they allowed two players to play on the Wii U with the use of the gamepad? Make it happen Square Enix.
I hope they don't release it here in the US.. because that will mean I must buy a Wii-U! :(
Also, I have NO idea what was going on in that trailer - gotta love Dragon Quest :D
WOW..... so excited. I hope the US launch doesn't take forever to arrive.
Looking awesome.
