The lights are on
The most talked about game at this year's Spike Video Game Awards show was The Phantom Pain, a game we were led to believe was being created by new developer Moby Dick Studio.
It didn't take NeoGAF users long to throw on their Sherlock Holmes attire to investigate this new game and its developer. What they found first was Moby Dick Studio's website, which doesn't offer much in terms of content, but does detail the company in its "about" section. Here's what it says:
Moby Dick Studio is a game
developing company operating out of Stockholm, Sweden. Moby Dick Studio
was founded by CEO Joakim Mogren who after years of working for a major
American developer brought together people out of various game studios
from around the Scandinavian area to start something new.
Our goal is to deliver an uncompromising, exciting and touching game experience to people all around the globe.
We will shortly be disclosing information regarding our first major release.
The CEO, Joakim Mogren, has an interesting name. "Joakim" is actually an anagram for "Kojima." Neogaf then dissected the footage, revealing many links to the Metal Gear series, including a scar on the protagonist's face that matches Snake's from Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The character emerging from the fire looks a lot like Volgin. The lines above the Phantom Pain logo supposedly also spell out Metal Gear Solid V, if you use the Metal Gear font.
We'll have to wait for confirmation to know for sure, but I have a feeling Neogaf uncovered the truth behind this game. My guess: It'll be called Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain.
Check out NeoGAF for all of the other hidden secrets in Phantom Pain's trailer.

Dang, if it actually is a Metal Gear game then I won't play it. The trailer was sweet!
GOD i hope your wrong about this. if your right we wont see the game until 2018.
Wow, that's awesomely deep!
Well that just blew my mind, too bad i haven't played any Metal Gear Solid games, or i would definately be interested in this.
Something you might have over looked, is that in the Ground Zeros trailer at some point it says "From Fox two phantoms where born" or something along those lines. It just so happens that the game is titled Phantom Pains.. plus all the other things you found. I don't know seeing as how Kojima loves trolling I can see this being MGS
You may be reading to much into this
My friends and I were watching this, and the whole time we kept saying, "this has to be metal gear," I mean the main guy looked just like snake!
I was thinking the same thing, the injured protagonist looked a hell of a lot like Snake, even down to the the injured eye that would no doubt require an eye-patch.
When they unveiled the title as simply "Phantom Pain", I was like "Wait...Don't they mean "Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain"?"
Either way the game looks cool.
You know that IS a possiblility. Now thinking about it, many trailers for the Metal Gear series are confusing with little bits of text that get thrown up on the screen, and that happened in this. Plus, when they zoomed in on the guys face, he does look a bit like Snake.
If Kojima really is messing with us, and this is another Netal Gear game, I'm intrigued
I'd feel bad for the studio if it wasnt a joke and this is a whole new experience. Then people wont play it cuz its not MG.[Also why is everyone ripping on this on NeoGaf? Faith people faith.
From the start of the trailer, I knew it was MGS related. The mullet confirmed it even more. Not to mention you can see METAL GEAR SOLID V behind THE PHANTOM PAIN in that still.
The trailer for it on VGA was epic.
I was convinced it was the new metal gear until the title screen. Now with all of this news I'm sure its metal gear
I guess we've finally found our white whale with this new game from Moby Dick Studios.
