The lights are on
Epic Games director of production Rod Fergusson announced he's joining Irrational Games, makers of BioShock Infinite. Rod's departure was first reported by Kotaku earlier this afternoon and later confirmed via Twitter.
Though he didn't say what projects he's working on, Fergusson is likely helping development on BioShock Infinite, which has seen a number of key employees leave recently. "I've played Infinite and it's amazing! Can't wait for you guys to get your hands on it," he said.
Fergusson spent nearly 8 years at Epic Games in an executive producer role. Prior to that, he spent 10 years working at Microsoft as a program manager. One of the first projects he worked on was Microsoft Train Simulator.
Good luck to him at Irrational.
Good luck on his future projects at Irational.
Thanks cool. Good luck.
No more delays please!!!!!! Need to play bioshock in feb 2012. Or release a demo to hold us off!!!
Just love how he couldn't help but rub in the fact that he actually got to play Bioshock Infinite.
Another step toward becoming one of the preeminent devs in the industry. Good luck Rod!
Strange. Irrational Games and Epic are both great developers. Hopefully Epic won't be hurt by his loss and Irrational gaining him will help their products.
Bold move. Say what you will about Epic but they're one of the most stable companies right now and as much as I like the team at Irrational and can't wait for Infinite, the recent troubles the game's been going through makes this sort of a big risk for him.
Always liked the guy so here's wishing him the best.
I just pooed my pants...
How IRRATIONAL lol.....but seriously good luck to him!
Good luck to him and hope that he contributes some of his expertise from Epic to Irrational.
Wow its so werid hearing him talk about Gears a few months ago then this happens.
Huh, and he just did all that coverage on Judgement. Oh well, I like Irrational better than Epic anyway, good for him. Sounds like that they have one of the most talented studios around now.
