Rockstar Tweaks Max Payne 3 DLC Plans

Rockstar Games has just announced a few changes to its plans for the upcoming Max Payne 3 DLC.

Back in May, Rockstar announced a total of seven DLC packs for Max Payne 3, including the previously released Local Justice map pack. The Disorganized Crime Pack, which features a new multiplayer map located in Max's Hoboken neighborhood and several new Score Attack modifiers, will be released in August for free. However, the other five planned DLC packs have been consolidated into three larger offerings. Rockstar has stated that the co-op content contained in the New York Minute Co-op Pack  will now be available in the Deathmatch Made in Heaven Pack. Here's the full break down of what is available and when:

  • Disorganized Crime Pack: August [Free]
  • Hostage Negotiation Map Pack: September [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)]
  • Painful Memories Map Pack: October [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)]
  • Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack: October [800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $9.99 (PlayStation Network and PC)]

Those who bought the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass will still get all of the above content for free. Today Rockstar also announced that the Local Justice map pack will be available on PC on Friday, August 3, for a discounted price of $5.99. A week later it will increase to $7.99.

  • max payne 3 is a really good game, and rockstar is doing a great job with it. for those who gripe about the matchmaking, what is so wrong about it? It seems to me that every MP3 article there are a bunch of people who say "the matchmaking is crap"/"the matchmaking sucks"/etc.. It's getting annoying. By the way, my only problem with max payne 3 is the multiplayer dialogue from Max. (he says WAY TOO MANY TIMES, "they seemed to be getting tougher rather than weaker" It's like, no shi t, man! Maybe there is just a really limited pool of dialogue for the bursts, oh well...) haha, game's a blast other than that 1 line, lol.

  • Cool. Max Payne's Multiplayer is the best! The story is the best part though!
  • Hmm... *taps a finger on his desk* I'm not sure why, but I haven't been buying DLC lately I've just realized. Splurging in plenty of other ways, yet I've never bought DLC for Forza 4 or Battlefield 3, despite them being my go-to games.

Think I'm just gonna buy the season pass for those two as well as Max Payne 3 here in a bit ;P
  • This should be a fine round of DLC indeed...
  • The fact that all the DLC is multi-player related is the reason my copy is now available at a local GameStop.
  • I guess that's good?... I LOVE MAX PAYNE 3!
  • Awesome news; all the dlc in a shorter amount of time.

  • I got Max Payne 3 recently and I'm having fun with it' singleplayer and multiplayer, but I'm too backlogged with DLC I still need to purchase. I don't have much money to set aside for these map packs.

  • Time to bring the Payne to the Max!
  • This sounds awesome, but for some reason my pre order DLC stuff won't download so I'm worried that would happen should I buy the DLC pass. But co-op... man I'm sold.
  • I would still appreciate better matchmaking

  • Not a big fan of the multiplayer, so no thanks.

  • Don't play the multiplayer cause I, for some reason, suck at 3rd person shooters. I die a lot. The co-op sounds gravy though.

  • That just means less money people will have to pay.

  • I still have to finish this game. Multiplayer is pretty fun though.

  • nice

  • wish it came with some single player dlc

  • sweet!! this game is REALLY great
